For Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters and other troop leaders, this training is the first part of position specific training and concentrates on troop operation. WHEN: The training will be held on Saturday February 27, 2010 beginning at 8:30 a.m. and will conclude around 5:00 p.m. WHERE:The training will be held at the LDS Church located at 510 Brannon Rd, Cumming Ga 30041 (close to HWY 400 and exit 13). Who should attend? This is a training course for adult Boy Scout Leaders. It is designed for Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, Varsity Coaches, Assistant Varsity Coaches, all Committee Members, as well as 2nd year Webelos leaders who will be crossing over to Boy Scouts. It is for new and experienced leaders and is open to all registered adult Scouters.
What are the areas of training?
You will become a member of a patrol in a adult training troop. As a member of a troop, you will learn how to train boys in troop operations including troop meetings and outdoor activities. You will learn how the advancement program works from Tenderfoot through Eagle Scout rank and how to organize the troop committee to provide an effective program for the boys in your troop.
What should I bring? If you have the Official Scoutmaster Handbook and the Boy Scout Handbook, bring them. A pen and paper will also be necessary.
