Committee Training

Are you a Unit Committee member or a parent who wishes to help his/her son’s troop operate at its best? Do you want to affect boys’ lives in a positive way? Unit Committee Training is a course required for Committee Chairmen and Committee Members of Scouting Units to earn their "Trained" status, but is open to all adults, parents and leaders. This fun and interactive training serves as a vital tool for new committee members as well as for veterans. The mission of the Unit Committee training is to help each Unit committee work as a team to improve the Scouting experience for adult and youth members. It helps build the commitment of individual members as well as cultivates a better troop committee team. This course focuses on the core beliefs, aims, and methods of Scouting. Specifically, it helps each committee member learn and identify his or her role and responsibilities in support of the adult Program leaders in the unit to provide a quality troop experience for the Scouts.

The training team of the Etowah District strongly urges all adult leaders, regardless of their position in the Unit, to “cross-train” and attend this Unit Committee Training as part of their Leader Training.

More information on live training is coming soon!
